I am Mateus, a front-end developer driven by challenges, continuous learning, and a strong connection between design, visuals, and code. I started programming at an early age, exploring HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which naturally developed my eye for layout, visual hierarchy, and user interfaces. Along this journey, I also gained experience creating simple visual assets, such as basic images, icons, and visual adjustments to support interfaces and content needs.
At 17, I faced my first major professional challenge: learning React from scratch and delivering a complete application in just two weeks, based on a predefined design and consuming an external API. The project was delivered on time and received recognition, marking the true beginning of my career in development.
Since then, I have built my career focusing not only on technical excellence but also on translating design concepts into consistent, accessible, and scalable interfaces. I enjoy working closely with designers, understanding design intent, and filling visual gaps when necessary by producing simple visual materials that keep projects moving forward. I am comfortable taking ownership when needed, including stepping into technical leadership roles and acting as a bridge between design and engineering teams.
